Place and environment
Qingdao marine environment corrosion testing station is situated
at Wheat Island, Qingdao, Shandong, east longitude 120 ¡ã25¡é,
north latitude 36 ¡ã03¡é, A corrosion test station of marine environment
at the north coast of China£¨Yellow Sea, Bohai Sea £©. The average
tide is 2.7m. There is fouling of oyster and barnacles, etc.
Testing facilities
Qingdao marine environment corrosion testing station has a comprehensive
seawater testing platform and can make full-immersion, tidal
and splash zone corrosion tests. Long scale coupons, galvanic
couples, and components of products can be exposed. The total
capacity is 12 thousand pieces.
The full-immersion zone is 0.5~1.5m below the average low tide
level, the tidal zone is at the average mid tide level. The
splash zone is 0.5~1.2m over the high tide level. The facilities
are in accord with the stipulation of national standard GB5776-86.

the research of its testing method¡± passed the appraisal by
the metallurgical industry ministry in 1988 with the comment¡°The
functions and reliability of the test platform has reached the
advanced level of the world¡±.
¡°high-speed sea water testing unit ¡±has been built for corrosion,
corrosion potential and polarization curve test of materials
at various seawater flow speed. The unit can change seawater
speed within 3-13 m/sec. Data are automatically recorded, and
computer treated. |
